    Veterans Welcomed to Sayville Academic Center

    Veteran members of the Smith-Wever American Legion Post 651, in the Heart of Sayville were welcomed to celebrate upcoming Veterans Day, November 11th.

    Post Commander Steve Antonacci said they had a great day with the students, “We marched with Flags into the Gym where we led the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ , then we went into class rooms and the kids asked us questions”.  Post Historian Fred Hinze, a ‘Tin Can Sailor’ brought a picture of his ship the USS EATON DD-510 , he proudly answered questions about his beloved ship.

    “Thanks for Your Service” echoed through the hall as we departed. The Sayville Academic Center ‘Made Our Day’.
