    Sayville Rotary Annual Pet parade

The Sayville Rotary Clubs 46th Annual Pet parade took place on Saturday July

    8. A Sayville  tradition for generations, this parade for pets and their
owners is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sayville and usually takes place
the first Saturday after July 4th. This fun, free event is held to thank the
community for supporting the Rotary in their efforts to live up to their
    motto of “Service before Self”

As in years past, the parade kicked off at the Prince of Peace parking lot,
and proceeded down Main Street towards the Common Ground at Rotary Park.
Dozens of dogs of all sizes, many wearing bandannas or other finery strolled
along side by side. There were cats, a bunny, a  cage of parakeets and a
    rooster!

At the Common Ground, the judges went to work, distributing awards for
various categories, including , best in show, best dressed, cutest ears,
etc. I spoke with Maeve and Meghan, their 3 year old dog Sienna won
“prettiest face” Each participant got a trophy, and everyone went home
    happy.

Thanks to the Sayville Rotary for once again sponsoring a fun event which
    brings the Sayville community together!
