Legislator Lindsay Rides Along with the Community Ambulance Company During EMS Week

Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay recently spent the evening riding along with the Community Ambulance Company as part of EMS Week.

President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities in 1974. EMS Week continues to bring together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line”.

The Community Ambulance Company of Sayville has been serving and protecting over 40,000 residents primarily of Bayport, Bohemia, Oakdale, Sayville, and West Sayville out of one station since 1950. It not only responds to emergency calls but trains and supports the community through NARCAN and CPR trainings, fundraisers for local groups, and community and youth safety education.

“The Community Ambulance Company, our community Fire Departments, and all EMS workers put their lives on the line everyday” said Legis. Lindsay. “We owe them all a debt of gratitude for all their efforts to better our community and I personally cannot thank them enough for their tremendous hard work.”
