Letter to the Community for Sayville Walk For Alzheimer Save the Date, Saturday, April 29th, 2017
ADRC provides Care & Consultation, Information & Referral, Education, Support & Therapy Groups, and Safety Services products. Here at our Bay Shore office we offer six caregiver Support Groups, as well as a Music and Art Therapy Group for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. The Resource Center houses a Research Library and Serenity Garden that is open to the public, as well as classrooms where Masters level instructors train professional caregivers to ensure quality care for those with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. In 2016 we launched our new Paint At The Parrish Program in collaboration with the Parrish Art Museum located in Water Mill, NY. Bus service is provided for local residents at our Bay Shore office and the program is opened to individuals with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia and their caregiver.
I am excited to announce that we are adding a third location to our Walk For Alzheimer’s events – The Grange – located at Broadway Avenue and Montauk Highway in beautiful Sayville, NY. Our first ever Sayville Walk For Alzheimer‘s will take place on Saturday, April 29th, 2017. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies beginning at
10:00 a.m. The Walk ribbon cutting will take place at 11:00 a.m. and Ronald McDonald will be on hand to help with the ribbon cutting. After the Walk, ADRC will host a BBQ type lunch with entertainment for all of our attendees. Individuals raising $100 or more will receive an official Sayville Walk Tote & T-Shirt. Team Captains will be recognized at our Opening Ceremonies program with a commemorative Team Captain medal. We are planning a wonderful family day for everyone.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our Sayville Walk For Alzheimer’s where together we will care for our local families, and work towards a Future Free From Alzheimer’s!
With gratitude always,
