Sayville Library events for January 2017.
The Sayville Library, as part of our community’s educational system, is dedicated to providing, on equal terms, service to all individuals and groups of every age. The Library’s primary function is to collect, classify and disseminate information. Our objective is to provide and service a collection of expertly selected books and other materials, which aid the individual in the pursuit of education, information or research, and in the creative use of leisure time. Sayville Historical Society Program: The Life & Times of Buster Keaton

Join film historian and composer J. K. Hodge for a journey back in time to witness the silent film master of physical comedy, Buster Keaton. Mr. Hodge will take us on the roller coaster ride that was Buster Keaton’s life, as well as pay homage to Keaton by playing piano live to his film “The Frozen North.” A young Keaton performed and directed this short comedy parody of western films. Learn to Be Tobacco Free

Suffolk County’s Learn to be Tobacco Free Program is among the most successful in the state. The program helps tobacco users break the addiction to nicotine by teaching them the emotional and habitual aspects of addiction, as well as providing them with tools to help sever their connection to tobacco. In addition, medically-eligible participants may receive nicotine replacement products and prescription medications that have been proven to help break the addiction.
