On Saturday November 26th 2016 at 7:58 a.m. Community Ambulance Company was dispatched to a reported maternity call in Sayville.

The crew immediately assessed the patient and moved her to the ambulance between contractions. The expected mother had two children prior and felt she had more time before delivery. However the baby could not wait and a baby boy was delivered at 8:31 a.m. in the back of the ambulance moments before arriving at the hospital. Both mother and baby were quickly and safely transported to Stony Brook Hospital and doing excellent.

This emergency shows the high level of skill and training the members of Community Ambulance Company have. Their ability to keep calm and provide the necessary care was showcased during what could have been a high stress situation.

The members on scene were Paramedic Ross Livinsky, EMT-CC Chief Stephanie Golub, EMT Kelsey Dargis, Associate Member Rup Christensen, and Ryan Close.
