    Statement Regarding Incident at Long Island MacArthur Airport

    At approximately 11:50am a transient Cessna 182 (high wing, single engine, 4-seat aircraft) was taxiing to runway 33L.

    The aircraft with one person on board left the taxiway paved surface impacting an airfield  guidance sign. Airport fire rescue responded to the scene. An ambulance was called and the pilot was transported to a local hospital. There was minor damage to the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration was contacted and is investigating the incident at this time.
