Troop 184 Cleans Trails at San Souci County Park

Over Memorial Day weekend, over 35 Scouts from Sayville Boy Scout Troop 184 spent their Friday morning cleaning up the trails of San Souci County Park on Broadway Avenue in Sayville.

Scout Eric P. organized the Scouts into multiple teams of Scouts, adult Scouters and parents who spread out along the trails within San Souci.  Several hours later, the Scouts returned with tarps, tires, a tent and bags upon bags of refuse.

Scouts follow the principles of Leave No Trace.  When in Nature, we aim to “leave only footprints and take only memories” from the areas that we visit.  This day, we were grateful that we could do more by cleaning up San Souci Park and leaving it cleaner than when we found it.
