Garbarino: Plan For Paid Family Leave Is Encouraging

A Statement from the desk of Assemblyman Andrew Garbarino (R,C,I-Sayville)

Today marks an important step as Gov. Cuomo and Vice President Biden discussed the importance of implementing paid family leave for New York families.

I agree with the governor in principle and I’m confident in the coming weeks the governor, Senate and Assembly will introduce the best plan for New York’s middle class. This is about doing what’s necessary for the middle class and developing bipartisan legislation that works for everyone for years down the road. The Assembly Republican Conference has always maintained the fiscal responsibility and moral courage to fight for what’s right, and the application of paid family leave will be no different.

I look forward to engaging with my Assembly colleagues as we work toward an adequate solution for all New Yorkers.
