    “The Gift”=”No Escape”

Finally, the movie going public is getting a top notch thriller in this film (“The Gift”). Run don’t walk to your local movie house (Sayville Cinemas)

you can’t beat the price. Joel Edgerton has to be thanked for a intelligent screen play.  I felt a bit of “Gone Girl” and  just a hint of Hitchcock but Edgerton was the star of a trifecta.  Joel Edgerton wrote, directed and co-starred with Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall.  As with any mystery thriller you don’t want to give anything away.  I know myself I try to figure the angles or when in a scene you will get a “gotcha.”  This movie is so well written and performed you are in for a treat.

    Hitman Agent 47

I liked this movie even though it had the formula car chase pile ups and more fire power that any one weapon could hold.  It was from the get start with the character (Agent 47) a clean-cut in a black suit, white shirt and red tie.  Even with a bit of a pinched face he still had “it” going on. The bald head with numerals on the base of his skull didn’t deter his masculine attractiveness.  I suspected the actor (Rupert Friend) was tall, 6’1″ …OK, we got that out of the way.  As I said this was a “spy thriller.” The main character (47) was genetically engineered from conception to be a perfect killing machine.  He is on a mission (aren’t they all) to find the daughter of the scientist that created (47) Katie van Dees (Hannah Ware), a tall leggy good looking woman (aren’t they all). No kidding, even with the product endorsements in abundance (foreign cars) and speeding images of Berlin and Singapore, it was a fun ride.  The writers let in a little light that perhaps our Agent 47 was taking on bits of “human traits.” Do you think our Agent 47 could morph into a double agent known as “Agent 94”  I would give this movie a look see.
